Anna-Maria Velentza graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology degree from the Department of Psychology at the University of Crete. In her research thesis, titled “Smart transformable architectures for work environments: Their role in cognitive tasks,” she carried out experiments using a virtual reality headset (Oculus Rift Development Kit 2) to explore the effect of lighting conditions on cognitive tasks (memory, sustained attention) within work environments. The study aims to help the creation of transformable and intelligent environments that have the ability to automatically adapt their spatial configurations in order to enhance human memory and sustained attention. She is mainly interested in working and learning environments but also in health and judicial buildings. During her studies, she participated in the works of the Experimental and Cognitive Psychology Laboratory at the University of Crete. She is trained in experimental research methodology, experimental design, running subjects, analyzing data and writing research reports.
