Dimitrios Mairopoulos holds a Diploma in Architecture and Engineering from the Technical University of Crete and a MSc in Design and Computation from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology; he has been awarded a fellowship for his studies from the MIT Department of Architecture. He is currently a researcher in MIT's Self Assembly Lab. His work in the Self Assembly Lab involves the exploration of self-assembly and programmable materials and technologies as well as their implementation in fields such as construction, product design and manufacturing. His affiliation with the TIE lab dates back to the lab’s very beginning. Since then, he has been involved into a great deal of the lab’s projects, workshops, presentations and academic papers.
