TUC TIE Lab Education / Play / Εκπαιδότοποι

Through an interdisciplinary approach that playfully bridges pedagogy and architecture, this TIE Lab group focuses upon the research and design framework to re-think indoor and outdoor educational environments in order to create multimodal experiences and enhance the learning ability of the children in beneficial ways. Within this framework, space acts as a ‘catalyst’ that facilitates the connection between children and the learning process, enhancing the observation, interaction, communication, cooperation and creativity skills. This facilitation is active in the interior as well as in the exterior spaces of a school, in a playground, in a museum, in the cityscape, even within a domestic environment. Moreover, the sector focuses on adaptable and flexible design techniques that pursue the emergence of the exciting and entertaining aspect of education, based on the ‘learning through play’ approach. Objects, spatial arrangements and spatial intelligent systems are created to support the overall framework and address issues varying from covering the basic needs to implementing immersive hi-tech installations. The emerging Educational Pla(y)ces are spaces that enhance the educational process by providing environmental stimuli and multiple ‘triggers’ to assist in the effective construction of ‘knowledge’. 

Οι εκπαιδότοποι συστήνουν ένα διεπιστημονικό, χωρικό-παιδαγωγικό πλαίσιο για τη βελτίωση του σχολικού περιβάλλοντος που προδιαγράφει το συμμετοχικό μετασχηματισμό της καθημερινής εκπαιδευτικής διαδικασίας σε μια ευχάριστη, γόνιμη δραστηριότητα μάθησης με δυναμικό χωρικό αποτύπωμα. Το πλαίσιο εστιάζει στη συμμετοχική αναδιαμόρφωση του εσωτερικού και εξωτερικού περιβάλλοντος του σχολείου μέσα από την αρχή της ενεργής και ευέλικτης υποστήριξης της εκπαιδευτικής διαδικασίας από το χώρο και τα αντικείμενα εξοπλισμού του, με συμμετοχικές δράσεις που επιδιώκουν να ενισχύσουν τη συναρπαστική πλευρά της μάθησης, ενστερνιζόμενες την προσέγγιση “μάθηση μέσα από το παιχνίδι.” Το νέο σχολικό περιβάλλον δρα ως ‘καταλύτης’ που ενδυναμώνει και υποστηρίζει τη σχολική κοινότητα, ενισχύει τους δεσμούς των παιδιών μεταξύ τους, με τους δασκάλους και με την καθημερινή διαδικασία αγωγής, μέσα και έξω από τη σχολική αίθουσα, ευνοεί την εξοικείωση, την επικοινωνία, την αλληλεπίδραση και τη συνεργασία, ενισχύοντας έτσι τη δημιουργία πολυτροπικών εμπειριών που βοηθούν τα παιδιά να μαθαίνουν καλύτερα.
