Sotiris Ntzoufras is an undergraduate student at the School of Architectural Engineering, Technical University of Crete. His research interests are in the areas of architectural and structural design, transformable intelligent environments, automation systems, designing methods and digital tools for Virtual Reality Environments. He is well versed in 3d-modelling software and computer graphics applications. He worked as a teaching assistant in the area of architectural technology, in the School’s fabrication laboratory and the TUC TIE Lab. He is involved in researching new design tools for architects, with an emphasis on the sensory aspects of the architectural experience (materials and memory). He is also interested in the kinetic systems theory and their application through the fabrication of 3d printers made accessible for all designers. Furthermore, he is participating in research programs aimed at designing open-source, 6axis robots controlled by virtual reality applications.
